The Company

India's first neobank for teenagers

FamApp (by Trio) is building the financial infrastructure for a generation that's been overlooked by every bank in the country. We give teenagers a spending account, UPI, and a numberless FamCard, the kind of product that didn't exist when most of us were 14.

The mission is to build a generation that is financially aware, smart, and independent. FamApp does this through frictionless payments, parental controls, and financial literacy features embedded directly into the product.

Payment Experience Revamp
Unifying two payment rails into a single experience
Redesigned the entire payment flow from the ground up, simplifying the UX while stitching TPAP (bank-linked) and PPI (wallet) payments into a single coherent experience. Users stopped noticing which rail they were on. That was the point.

Success Rate Improvement
Improving acceptance across the UPI wallet ecosystem
Deep data analysis on where and why payments were failing, then took it upstream, working directly with NPCI, RBI, payment aggregators, and merchants to fix acceptance at the ecosystem level. The result: FamApp captured over 75% of wallet UPI market share and was formally recognised by the Reserve Bank of India as systemic in the wallet space.

Reducing failures before users ever encountered them
Led three systems designed to stop problems before users ever hit them: Killswitch, a circuit breaker that cuts bad traffic in real time; Business Decline Engine, which routes declines intelligently; and Fraud Management System. All three running quietly in the background every time someone pays.

Reducing payment latency across the stack
Pulled multiple levers across the stack: migrated critical payment paths to GoLang, shipped UX changes optimised for perceived speed, and introduced caching for high-frequency flows. Each initiative small on its own. Together, payments got 35% faster.

A customisation marketplace built on a user insight
Started from a user insight: GenZ personalises anything they can touch. Built a customisation marketplace for app icons, payment scanners, and QR themes. Gave users something to own.

Recharge & Giftcard Revamp
Rebuilding the recharge and giftcard distribution layer
Identified systemic issues in the recharge and giftcard distribution layer, with reliability failures generating a long tail of customer complaints. Built a robust replacement system from scratch. Reduced queries, gave users something dependable, and turned it into a stable income stream for the company.

Establishing NPS as a core metric across the org
Introduced NPS as a core metric for the pod, then pushed it into how the broader org made decisions. Gave the team a concrete way to measure whether we were actually building something better for users, not just shipping features.

Mixpanel & CleverTap
Migrating analytics infrastructure and owning product marketing
Led the full migration from CleverTap to Mixpanel and became the single point of contact for analytics across the org. Also ran product marketing: campaigns, push notification journeys, and segmentation. Took average PN CTR from 3–4% to 12%, which is genuinely unheard of in the industry.
